Becoming a social people means that you have an inherent desire to improve the lives of people who are less fortunate or unable to advocate for themselves Society is an association of all classes of people with common interest, aim and principle. As social beings, we are to perform certain duties to the society. Service to others is one of the main values in social work, from which all of the other values stem.
There is no controversy over the fact that social people acknowledge that serving others is more important than self-interest and put the needs of their clients ahead of their own. Social people can take part in rising awareness. They may come forward to remove the evil conceptions of the people. They can prove to be worthy during natural calamities. In time of flood, famine, cyclone, earthquake and epidemic they can come forward to help the people in distress. Again, they can collect food, clothes and medicine and distribute them amongst the people in need. There are many other duties that social people can perform as conscious citizens of a country.
Many social workers decide to enter the profession because they recognize the need to help underprivileged, helpless populations, such as the homeless, those struggling with substance abuse issues or victims of domestic violence. To save the country, social people should come forward with a helping hand.
