Agriculture in Bangladesh
Since in Bangladesh, even now in 2018 of the Third Millennium, more than 77% of the population depend on agriculture, it is necessary that the products of the land be made to grow in the maximum possible amount. So it very shocking matter to find that the country’s agri sector is being rocked by a fertilizer crisis which has been artificially generated. The farmers are deeply upset and a number of untoward incidents have unfortunately occurred. How disgraceful the whole affair is! How will we be able to extend our condolences to the farmers, the poor victims? Is this the sign of an agricultural country? It is a matter of great regret that Bangladesh is still lagging when it comes to agriculture. Her agriculture suffers from a number of serious drawbacks such as crisis of seeds, fertilizer, fragmentation of land, use of primitive tools, ignorance of the modern methods of cultivation, lack of the basic education and so on.
All these problems need to be solved immediately in order to make the country self sufficient in food.
